Best Lotion for both guys and gals
|
| Review Date: February 8, 2008 |

First of all I am a guy and yes I bought this after some sampling it from one of my friends. I have very dry skin (due to weight training and having sensitive skin) and I have tried a lot of lotions to get rid of my dry skin and so far the only lotion that worked was Eucerin but that lotion was way too oily as it left my hands greasy. Now comes l'occitane which leaves my hand moisturized and no more grease after applying the lotion. It is simply one of the best lotions I have used. But, no product is perfect so here are my gripes:
1. Costly
2. I don't like the smell
3. Cap is too small
Other than that you won't find a better lotion out there that not only heals very dry skin and being grease free. Recommended for all skin types for your hands. |
Worth the Price if You Can Afford It

I'm a caregiver, and the frequent hand washing along with alcohol-based sanitizers made my skin rough and painfully cracked, sometimes until bleeding. But this cream when applied after each washing helped make my hands soft again.
Pros of the L'Occitane cream:
1. Moisturizes super effectively.
2. Absorbs well without lots of greasiness.
3. Fragrance is pleasant and not too strong.
Cons:
1. Price.
2. Lack of UV protection.
The only other hand cream that worked about as well for me was Ahava (also very expensive).
I've also tried Neutrogena Norwegian formula, Vaseline Intensive Care, Jergens, Curel, Lubriderm, Eucerin, Aveeno and other common brands.
If you can't get the L'Occitane, then the closest inexpensive alternatives I have found so far include:
Eucerin Calming Cream, which is very rich and non-greasy (it comes fragrance free and is in a nice, large tube), and
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula, which feels a bit greasier but is available in fragrance free version, or
Norwegian Formula FAST ABSORBING Hand Cream.
Another alternative is to get some pure shea butter or Aquaphor, smooth a bit on the spots that need special treatment (especially around the nails to prevent hangnails or on cracked knuckles) and then follow up with your current favorite moisturizer. |

| This is the best hand cream I have found. Thick and rich, and not greasy. Absorbs easily. It is the only thing I have found that keeps my hands from cracking in the winter. Never want to be without it. |

| The hand cream absorbs easily and has a pleasant smell. I guess you probably need to keep applying it throughout the day if you want to see dramatic changes. I do not see any major difference in my hands after I started applying the product. It may be I do not reapply after washing my hands during the day. I did find that the Body Shop Hemp hand cream tended to remain even after hand washing - the shea butter hand cream does not remain in this way. |
Not the hand cream I'd hoped for

| This hand cream has a lovely soft scent and works in easily but really did not solve my dry hand issue. The positive effects wore off within minutes. Disappointing. |
The best hand cream you can buy - absolutely

| I use this in the evening on my hands and nails just before bed. When I travel to Southern California I make sure to put a travel size in my one quart zip top bag or, if its a long enough trip that I'll be checking luggage, a full size tube in the checked suitcase. When I'm in Southern CA I find that I need to use it several times a day as the air is very dry there. |
The best hand cream I ever used!

| If you love fresh-smelling, non-greasy hand creams that leave your hands feeling fantastic, then you will love this hand cream! My hands feel great after I use it - nice and soft - and takes the winter chap off my hands beautifully. It's worth every penny! |
I will purchase this again!

| I like this cream. It's non-greasy, fast absorbing and my hands improved after using this. The small size ($10) is a perfect tube to have in my purse at all times and it smells pleasant. I will definitely purchase this again. |
