I cannot rave enough about Philosophy Hope in a Jar for dry, sensitive skin. I have only been using it a little over a month and the improvement of my skin is amazing. I have sensitive, combination skin, but in the winter months (and since hitting 40) my dry patches have been getting dryer, so I decided to try the dry and sensitive formula and I am so glad I did. It not only got rid of all the dryness but has made my complexion so clear and smooth. AND, best of all, I decided to discontinue using my Lancome Renergie eye creme and try this instead and the difference is miraculous! It has not only drastically diminished the wrinkles under my eyes but the puffiness as well.
I do want to add that the very first time I used this I did experience some slight burning and redness, but my skin must have adjusted to it because I didn't have any problems with it after that.
This one is a keeper. Try it and use it morning and night and see for yourself. |

| The Philosophy Hope In A Jar Moisturizer For Dry Sensitive Skin was the first Philosophy product I ever tried. I have dry skin and thought I would see if this moisturizer would do what it claimed! Was I ever pleasantly surprised! I have become a full fledged Philosophy Girl since then! I use "all" of their products! They're wonderful! I especially recommend the Purity One Step Facial Cleanser, the Moisturizer, the Eye and Lip Cream and The Greatest Love hydrating microdermabrading scrub. These are absolute "basics" in my skin care regime! My skin has never felt or looked better! I also love, love, love the lip balms! They make your lips so soft and feel so good! I know I sound like a paid advertiser for their products, but I promise, I'm not! I just love Philosophy's line and wanted to share my thoughts with anyone contemplating using their products! Aside from their facial skin care products, their bath and body products are good too! I told you, I use them all! |
Lives up to its reputation

| I've been considering trying their products for years, but this is the first I've bought and I'm certainly not sorry I did. It has made a noticeable difference in the appearance of fine lines as well as deeper wrinkles that have developed over my 65+ yr. lifetime. It only takes a tiny bit, though. If you accidentally use too much, just wait about 20 minutes and wipe off the excess with a tissue. My husband is using it instead of his usual aloe and likes it, also. Most of the reviewers seem to be younger, so I thought I'd let you older buyers know it will work for you as well. |
Still irritating, even the sensitive skin formula

Not for Sensitive Skins-- I usually use Clinique, or Bare Minerals which is completely fragrance-free. Even then, I sometimes get reactions (usually to chemical sunscreens that are in a lot of day creams).
This product is not a good choice for women who have sensitive skin. It didn't make me break out, because it actually burned and I had to take it off immediately. This product contains Diazolidinyl Urea which is irritating to a lot of people (including me). Another note-- the only negative review, which is from a buyer who got acne from the cream, was marked as "not helpful". Not a good sign for company honesty.
Conclusion: Lots of good reviews, so I guess it's worth a try, but skip it if you don't like perfumed moisturizers.

"Hope" actualized

| After using this product for 2 weeks, my 61 year old skin looks more refined and feels smoother; without any redness or irritation. It is absorbed quickly and leaves no greasy shine or residual. Most beauty products market an illusion; this one actualizes its objective. |

I bought this for my husband, whose sentivie skin is always red after shaving. But when I found myself without cream one morning, I dipped a finger into this. A finger that was red and irritated from unintentional contact with clorox. Well, this cream did what the prescription formula my doctor gave me (that cost twice as much) couldn't- it calmed my red, chapped hands!
I have since become a devotee, using it every morning from chest to forhead (and hands, of course)and plan to order the biggest bottle they make. |

| I have such sensitive skin (everything recommended to me burns my face!), but this moisturizer is very gentle and effective for dry skin. I love it! |

Over the last few of years I've moved from a medium humid area (Los Angles) to a dry climate (central CA) to a VERY DRY climate (Las Vegas). My skin went from oily to so dry I was flaking AND cracking all over my face. I tried so many products and nothing helped. I somehow ended up with a small jar of this and OMG! Within the first couple of days that "tight" feeling went away - two weeks and the flaking began to calm down dramatically. By the time I was done with my first jar, my skin had a "glow", and my breakouts happened less often.
I still have an oily T-Zone, and this does not make my skin feel any more oily than normal. |
